Hi friends and fam,
Just a quick update--K continues to be doing amazingly well 17 days post transplant. His blood counts dropped due to the chemo/radiation as expected and they have started to climb back up right on schedule. We are very hopeful that this means that his new transplanted stem cells have taken over. We'll know more the first week of February after a bone marrow biopsy. And yes......he's still working more than full time and kickin' butt in school (not to mention pres of the Puget Sound Engineering Council, loving husband, ASME member of government relations, etc., etc., etc............)
Lots of love!

Transplant day visitors
Day 8
Hi all,
So sorry for the lapse in posts--it's been a crazy time in the Guiley household. Kalan had his bone marrow/stem cell transplant on January 5th and is doing amazingly well. This transplant is WAY easier on Kalan (and Jennie, too!) than the last and we are incredibly hopeful. As of a week before transplant, Kalan's latest scan results showed "NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE!" The transplant will track down the last few lingering cancer cells and blast them away.
We are incredibly thankful to Kalan's amazing sister, Micaela, for her bone marrow donation. What a life saver!!! We love you Micaela!!!
More to come......
Lots of love!
